Truestone and impact investing

For many years Truestone has been involved in socially motivated and philanthropic activities. Over the course of this time we have come into contact with a substantial number of organisations who follow a social agenda alongside their business objectives. Like them we are in business to make a profit but at the same time we support and promote financial solutions that aim to assist disadvantaged individuals improve their lives.

Through our network of contacts we have been able to identify a range of investments which can help alleviate poverty or provide opportunities for poor people and communities to build a better future. Many of these investments involve the purchase of equity in, or funding for specific social businesses where we can see the positive impact that they are having. Periodically these social goals can be achieved through the creation of a more structured investment vehicle such as a fund.

The Developing World Markets Microfinance Fund is just such a vehicle which can make investing in socially motivated activities more accessible to both private clients and institutional investors within the UK.
