Ian Handley -Director, Private Finance

 

Ian Handley began a City career with Lloyds Bank in 1978. He held senior positions in both retail and commercial banking roles.  During that time he served on the West End Institute of Bankers Committee and was made a Fellow of the institute in 1997. He is an associate member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

From 1996 to 2001 Ian was Group Director, Resources and Commercial Development at London First. London First's mission was to engage business in promoting and improving London, to ensure that it has the resources, leadership and infrastructure needed to head the league of world cities in the 21st Century.

From 1993 to 2002 he was also a Governor at Westminster College and became Chairman of the Corporation in 1998. In 2000 he led the college’s merger with Kingsway College to create the then largest Further Education College in London with revenue in excess of £30m.  He also sat as a business leader on the London Development Partnership Skills Group and Finance Group.

He founded Total Managed Solutions Ltd, a mould breaking ICT managed service provider for SMEs that was sold to ASAS plc in 2003 where he became CEO until June 05.

In September 2006 Truestone Asset Management plc invited Ian to set up and lead Truestone Private Finance as the lending arm of Truestone, initially focusing on property finance and mortgages.

His principle skills are strategic planning, business development and financial engineering.

Outside of work Ian has represented the UK in International sailing events and won Cowes week overall. Contact Ian.
